The Friends of the San Antonio Public Library (FOSAPL)

The Friends, inaugurated March 23, 1964, promotes public use of the San Antonio Public Library and appreciation of its value as a cultural and educational asset to the community and encourages the extension and improvement of its services.

BRANCH GROUPS
Libraries need Friends to assure the public is aware of the many programs and services provided by the San Antonio Public Library system. Friends also play an active role in helping their neighborhood branch libraries through local Book Sales, Staff Appreciation, and other events. If your branch does not yet have a Friends group, contact [email protected] for guidance in forming one.
SAPLings NEWSLETTER
The FOSAPL newsletter, called SAPLings, is how members stay informed of group and branch activities, including Board Meetings, the Annual Meeting, celebrations, and ideas in fundraising. Once you become a member, you are notified when a new issue is ready to read on this website. 
  • SAPLings is published six times per year.
  • The deadlines for submitting articles and photos are February 5, April 5, June 5, August 5, October 5 and December 5. 
  • Please email photos and stories by the deadline listed above to [email protected].  
  • Submissions are subject to space availability and are edited for adherence to style
