The Friends of the San Antonio Public Library (FOSAPL)

The Friends, inaugurated March 23, 1964, promotes public use of the San Antonio Public Library and appreciation of its value as a cultural and educational asset to the community and encourages the extension and improvement of its services.

BYLAWS
Friends of the San Antonio Public Library met to discuss the most recent bylaws, last dated 2021, at the Annual Meeting held on January 24, 2026. Though not required, FOSAPL provides its bylaws here.
BRANCH GROUPS
Libraries need Friends to assure the public is aware of the many programs and services provided by the San Antonio Public Library system. Friends also play an active role in helping their neighborhood branch libraries through local Book Sales, Staff Appreciation, and other events. If your branch does not yet have a Friends group, please contact [email protected] for guidance.
